Hail to Thee in Victor's Crown (Anthem of the German Empire 1871-1918) On November 5 th , 1930, the 3 rd Academy Awards met to hand out awards for the time period between the months of August of 1929 to July of 1930. If you read the last installment, then you know that the 2 nd Academy Awards also took place in 1930, making this the only year with 2 Oscar ceremonies in the same year. This was probably when they realized that this was going to become more of a thing so they started moving the ceremony closer to the actual time frame. The 3 rd winner of the Oscar for Outstanding Production was All Quiet on the Western Front , based on the best-selling novel by Erich Maria Remarque. It was also the first movie to win both the Oscar for Outstanding Production (renamed from Outstanding Picture, the then-name for Best Picture) and Best Director (for Lewis Milestone). The Batman Review

In case you couldn’t tell from the title, the Batman is coming back to theaters. Considering how this is the fifth time in less than 20 years that the Caped Crusader has been rebooted, expectations are a bit high. It is an unfortunate fact that it’ll always be compared to the other Batman movies (even the terrible ones directed by Joel Schumacher), especially with them so fresh in recent memory, and we will be doing that quite a bit in this review as well so prepare yourself. Synopsis : When the Riddler, a sadistic serial killer, begins murdering key political figures in Gotham City, Batman is forced to investigate the city’s hidden corruption. THE GOOD The Villain The Riddler in this movie is seriously terrifying and the best movie villain in several years. The character does see

Despite this, however, several scholars have gone back and looked at the records of what Academy members were considering to create an impromptu nominees list (good work there, fellas). According to these records, the other 4 nominees for Outstanding Picture were In Old Arizona, The Patriot, The Wind and The Hollywood Revue of 1929 (which I won't be reviewing because it's just 2 hours of all the biggest stars of MGM talking about how awesome they are; it's seriously the most self-indulgent thing I’ve ever watched in my life). Of those four, apparently In Old Arizona was the biggest competition, as evidenced by Warner Baxter (the lead) winning the Oscar for Best Actor. As mention
